You will be welcome at our Carers and Toddlers group, which meets on Tuesday mornings, from 9:45 to 11:15am.
It’s a great opportunity to make and meet with friends for carers and children alike.
There are usually craft sessions, nursery rhymes and songs for everyone to join in, and occasionally we hold special events like a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, or a Coffee Morning for a good cause, and at Christmas, there is a party!
There is a weekly subscription, which is used to buy and replace equipment, so please encourage you child to use the toys properly and put them away tidily after use, and it helps to increase the amount of time available for songs and nursery rhymes, if everyone helps to tidy away at the end of the session.
During the morning, drinks and biscuits are provided for all to enjoy, but in the interests of safety, if you have a hot drink, please make sure to keep it well away from the children, who remain the responsibility of their carer at all times!
Our leaders and helpers have all been appropriately vetted, and undertaken safeguarding training, and we follow the Methodist Church’s Safeguarding Policy.
This means that we ask that carers always accompany their children to the toilet; that children do not go into the Thrift Shop (which runs at the same time in a different part of the building) alone and that everyone remains aware of any visitors to the group. If you are in any doubt, don’t be afraid to check their identity with a leader.
We also ask that any child who has been in contact with an infections disease, or who has recently suffered with diarrhoea and vomiting is kept at home until you are certain they have recovered.
If you have any problems or difficulties at any time, our minister, Rev. Christine, or one of our leaders (Enid, Jean, Jean, Anne and Kath) will be happy to talk to you.
All of our activities are insured through the Church’s insurance policy.
